1/12 S.H.Figuarts Darth Maul Action Figure review

"At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we will have our revenge".

That's right it's the one time Jedi Master murderer and ol robot legs himself Darth Maul. Once again I'm looking at a great action figure from Bandai, released as part of their S.H.Figuarts series.

Enjoy the pictures and quick review.

1/12 S.H.Figuarts TMNT Raphael Figure Review

Once again I'm looking at Figuarts interpretation of the heroes in a half shell. Raphael to be more specific, from the original cartoon series.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and review.

1/6 Hot Toys Star Wars Princess Leia Figure Review

I've been wanting to put up some pictures of my Star Wars figures by Hot Toys for a while, and where better to start than with the amazing Princess Leia figure from A New Hope.

Look out for the rest of the characters from A New Hope coming soon.

Hope you enjoy the review.

1/12 S.H.Figuarts TMNT Michelangelo Figure Review

It's Pizza time! Today I'm looking at yet another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figure.

So I actually have a fairly sizeable collection of Turtles stuff, and I plan on doing various TMNT posts over the coming weeks. To keep things going I'm looking at my childhood favourite Michelangelo, as done by the Japanese firm Bandai and released under the S.H.Figuarts line.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and review.

NECA Ash (from 'Ash vs the Evil Dead') Figure Review

At this point NECA have done a whole bunch of Evil Dead figures from all the movies, but I was especially intrigued when they first showed off their figures based on the 2015 TV series.
There's something even more endearing about an older, grumpy and frumpier Ash.
I've picked up one figure so far from this series but after taking pictures of him the other night I realise that I should seriously get some more!

A point to note, there are two versions of this figure. After the below figure was released NECA went on to release an 'Ultimate' version that comes with 2 x extra heads, his 'woody' hand and a picture of his car.  Bloody typical, I should have waited haha.

Enjoy the pictures and review :)

S.H.Figuarts Freddie Mercury Action Figure Review

Here's something a bit different! When I saw this figure was announced I was surprised to say the least. As far as I was aware Figuarts only really did Anime and film stuff. They've done Bruce Lee figures too I suppose, but wow a Freddie Mercury figure? GENIUS!

Obviously the figure is based on Queen's Wembley 1986 appearance. It's a great choice for a figure, I'd love a full band set but I'm not holding my breath. Enjoy the pictures!

1/6 Hot Toys MMS409 Batman (Rebreather .Ver)

I mentioned on an earlier post that I also bought a new Batman recently. None other than the BATFLECK!

This is the 'Rebreather version' i.e. the one Hot Toys released under the Suicide Squad branding, having previously released Batfleck as part of their Batman vs Superman series.

This figure is a joy to pose and photograph. I had a blast taking the pictures. Enjoy :)

1/4 Enterbay Terminator 2 Figure Review

I've had this figure for a while. My personal opinion, this figure represents Enterbay's finest work. I might be a bit biased though as I'm a massive fan of the Terminator series and the man himself Arnie.

As the title suggests, this figure is a 1/4 scale figure. Which means he's pretty big standing at just under 19 inches tall. I always said I wouldn't get into buying larger figures and models like this, but I just had to make an exception here.

Full scale Lightsaber replicas

So when I was a kid, I would have killed for a high quality full scale Star Wars Lightsaber prop. I remember pouring over pictures of props in various books and magazines. Of course there was no way someone was going to spend a couple hundred pound on a Lightsaber for a child haha.

Roll on to adulthood and I can now waste my own money on such things, oh yeah!
I picked up the following handmade Lightsaber prop from a fantastic company called Saberforge.
(I'll put a link to their site at the bottom of this post).

Personally this is probably my favorite Saber of them all, Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber from Return of the Jedi.

1/6 Hot Toys MMS383 + MMS382 Suicide Squad Review

Over last Christmas I got various Suicide Squad figures. Yes I know the film wasn't the best ever and it divided fans like mad but I still maintain that the film has it's merits and I appreciate that they tried something different with the Joker, even though most people seem to hate it.

Lets face it though, it was always going to be a daunting task following up acts by Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill and Heath Ledger. The quality of the film aside I thought the figures that Hot Toys produced for it where pretty eye catching and I operate on a rule that if the figure catches my eye enough, I don't care what it's based on I'll have it!

So far I've bought four Hot Toys figures based on the film, 2x Jokers, 1x Harley Quinn and Batman. Today I'm showing off the Jokers and Harley.
Enjoy the pictures and quick thoughts on each of the figures.

1/12 Storm Collectibles Ryu Figure Review

Hadouken!

I recently purchased this gem from America, as always cool stuff like this can't simply be bought from a normal shop in the UK. I always see posts on Reddit where Americans casually say they were at Walmart or Toys R Us (RIP) and they picked up one of these figures on sale. I get massively salty about it because we just have toy shops that sell wooden rocking horses and hoola hoops (slight over exaggeration). Any hooo this marks my first Storm Collectibles figure! This is Ryu from the beat-em-up video game Street Fighter 5.

Wednesday 7 March 2018

I'm back! Here are some NECA 1/4 Turtle pictures to celebrate.

I'm back after a fairly long hiatus, *cough 6 years! My collecting habit has not slowed down any. Although I'd say due to mental spirally costs of Hot Toys I've probably shifted more towards collecting smaller scale figures like NECA, Figuarts and Figma stuff. The quality for these companies has jumped up massively over the last few years and they are a pleasure to buy and display, plus they take up less room ha.

That being said, over 2017 I bought the fairly big 1/4 TMNT figures that NECA released one by one, thank god they didn't release them all at once as it was a fairly expensive affair. Due to stupid licensing issues they weren't released in the UK for sale so each figure had to be purchased from the US, or risk paying nutty aftermarket prices. I'm chuffed to own all four now. Enjoy the pics and look out for more review's coming soon.
